A.D. Garrick is my pen name—a quiet place where my stories live. While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I believe it's only fair that readers know a little about the person inviting them into the world of Eden.

I grew up in the nineties, long before smartphones filled every quiet moment. Most afternoons found me with a book in my hands, usually borrowed from my school library and occasionally returned much later than it should have been.

I attended a small school where I discovered a love for journalism, theater, martial arts, and storytelling. At the time they felt like separate interests, but looking back I can see they were all teaching me the same thing: how people communicate, struggle, dream, and find meaning in the stories they tell.

After graduating, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Those years introduced me to responsibility at a young age and showed me the quiet strength that ordinary people are capable of when circumstances leave them no easy choices. They also gave me a deep respect for leadership, loyalty, sacrifice, and the bonds formed between people who choose to stand beside one another.

Fantasy has been a lifelong companion. Some of my inspirations came from worlds like The Lord of the Rings, The Sword of Truth, A Song of Ice and Fire, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate, Warcraft, and Star Wars. Each left its own mark, reminding me that the greatest fantasy stories are never really about magic alone—they're about people.

Outside of fiction, I've always been fascinated by psychology, leadership, personality, history, and faith. I enjoy understanding why people become who they are, how they respond to hardship, and what allows some to endure when others lose hope. Those questions eventually found their way into the world of Eden.

The Last Dawn Saga truly began taking shape in 2016. What started as scattered notes and ideas slowly grew into a world with its own history, kingdoms and people. Over the years, Eden has become a place I know almost as well as the one outside my window.

When I'm not writing, I work in the corporate world, spend time with my beloved companion, and continue finding new corners of Eden to explore. Sometimes that means outlining future books. Sometimes it means chasing a single conversation until it finally sounds right. And occasionally it means asking wonderfully impractical questions, like whether a flamboyantly colorful merchant belongs in a dark fantasy—or how my friends and pets might someday find their place in the world I've spent years building.
